Prof Arridina Susan Silitonga is an internationally recognised top researcher in the field of bioenergy, alternative fuel, and the environment. The potential of biodiesel to contribute to a shift into more sustainable energy systems became contested, and scientists started questioning biofuels’ environmental superiority. As a result of these concerns, sustainability has been promoted as an essential condition for biofuels' long-term viability and continued public support for renewable energy and climate change mitigation.

Associate Professor Hendra Hermawan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mining, Metallurgy, and Materials Engineering at Université Laval, Québec, Canada.
